Ingredients

4 Large white onions

1 liter of Water

25 milliliters of Dry white wine

1 tablespoon of White flour

50 grams of Butter

1 tablespoon of Vegetable oil

100 grams of Grated cheese

1 Baguette-style bread

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : Slice the onions into julienne strips, then heat a pot with vegetable oil and melt 30g of butter.

Step 2 : Add the chopped onions with salt and pepper to taste. Sauté the onions over low heat for about 20 minutes.

Step 3 : Add the tablespoon of white flour and stir. Let cook for a couple of minutes longer, then add the white wine and a liter of water while stirring continuously. Simmer over low heat for another 30 minutes.

Step 4 : Cut the baguette bread into slices about 3 to 4 centimeters thick, spread butter on both sides, and bake at 180°C for about 10 minutes.

Step 5 : Serve the soup in an ovenproof bowl, place the toasted bread on top, and sprinkle grated cheese over the bread and the soup.

Step 6 : Place everything in the oven at 220°C for about 3 to 5 minutes so the cheese melts slightly, then serve immediately.
