Beef Short Ribs with Beer

Ingredients

2 kilograms of Beef Short Ribs

1 pinch of Salt

1 cup of Oil

1 Onion, sliced into strips

1 Finely chopped garlic

2 tablespoons of Tomato paste

½ cup of Balsamic vinegar

3 tablespoons of Meat sauce

330 milliliters of Dark or black beer

3 cups of Beef broth

Finely chopped parsley

1 pinch of Black Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : For the beef short ribs: Preheat the oven to 160°C.

Step 2 : Season the meat well with salt and pepper. Then, in a heavy-bottomed pot, add enough oil to cover the bottom, heat, and brown the meat on both sides. Set aside on a plate.

Step 3 : In the same pot, add the remaining oil and cook the onion, seasoning with salt and pepper, until golden and soft. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Step 4 : Then add the tomato paste, cook for a couple of minutes. Subsequently, add the vinegar, meat sauce, and beer, scraping the bottom of the pot.

Step 5 : Return the ribs to the pot and add enough dissolved beef broth to cover them. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Cover the pot with aluminum foil and then with a lid.

Step 6 : Place the pot in the oven and bake for 3 hours or until the meat can be easily removed with a fork. Let rest for 15 minutes.

Step 7 : Serve sprinkled with chopped parsley and accompanied by mashed potatoes.
