Roast beef is an excellent option to start a delicious meal, and it can also be enjoyed as a tasty snack.
It has its roots in British culinary influence in the country.
It dates back to the arrival of English immigrants in the 19th century, who introduced this recipe to Chilean cuisine.
Roast beef
Ingredients
1 kilogram of Round loin
4 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons of White pepper, mixed with black pepper
2 tablespoons of Olive oil
200 milliliters of Water
1 pinch of Salt
Preparation
Step 1 : Carefully clean the loin and remove excess fat.
Step 2 : Marinate with Dijon mustard all over the loin. Then, season with salt and peppers everywhere.
Step 3 : Heat a little olive oil in a large skillet. When hot, sear the meat until well browned on all sides.
Step 4 : Transfer the meat to an oven-safe dish. Add some of the oil used for searing on top.
Step 5 : Add water to the dish. Place in a preheated oven at 180°C. The cooking time depends on how you like it. A good rule is half an hour of baking per kilogram of meat.
Step 6 : Once cooked to your desired doneness, let it rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing to prevent juices from escaping.
Step 7 : Slice the meat into very thin slices. When serving, add a little of the cooking juices. It can be served cold, warm, or hot.
